The stainless steel woven wire mesh sheets are simple yet versatile products designed for various applications. Measuring 1 metre by 1 metre, these sheets are available in three distinct stainless steel grades: 316, 304, and 430.
Starting with the 316-grade, this is a marine-grade stainless steel known for its enhanced corrosion resistance, especially in saline environments. It’s ideal for outdoor applications or places with high moisture content. Whether used for filtration or as protective barriers in coastal areas, its resistance to rust makes it a durable choice.

We can supply either standard grade 304 stainless steel, or the higher quality grade 316 stainless steel, sometimes called Marine Grade. Grade 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, added to boost its resistance to corrosion and should be selected if the material is to be used in a salt water or coastal environment.
SS430 is a magnetic stainless steel grade. This grade is the most common magnetic grade of stainless steel used in industry. It is great for hundreds of applications and has outstanding forming and welding characteristics.

Some fine wire mesh has holes as small as 0.026mm, some heavy meshes may have holes as large as 10mm. Wire diameter goes as small as 0.025mm, or upwards of 1.6mm+.
When selecting your specification, please take note of the hole size and the wire diameter. There are a huge number of different specifications of mesh. They vary enormously in terms of their potential application. Very small holes are typically used for filtration, larger holes tend to come with thicker wire, and are used for more robust applications like rodent proofing.

Stainless steel is the gold-standard material for wire mesh. If you want your mesh to last a lifetime than stainless steel is the metal for you.
Our Stainless steel wire mesh contains at least 16% chromium which makes it extremely resistant to corrosion. We offer a huge range of different specifications, available in both AISI304 and AISI316 grade stainless steel.

In 2008 Locker Wire Weavers launched The Mesh Company to bring our enormous range of wire mesh products to the general public for the first time. Previously wire mesh was only available for trade customers.
We continue to extend our range, and now proudly offer many forms of mesh and metal products for the best possible prices. We specialise in woven wire mesh. As a group we work closely with architects and designers to develop ground-breaking new applications for our multifunctional range of materials. We also offer state of the art fabrication and engineering for projects of all sizes.
Strong ties with the Warrington community continue to be at the very core of our business. We are proud to invest in the training and developing our staff of all levels in line with the traditions set by Thomas Locker, who founded our group 150 years ago when he invented the electronic loom.
