Galvanised Steel Mesh Rolls Woven Wire

1.62mm hole heavy duty galvanised steel mesh rolls made from 0.5mm wire.

The galvanised steel mesh roll is a robust, woven wire mesh crafted from durable, corrosion-resistant galvanised steel. This product is distinguished by its Mesh Count of 12 holes per linear inch, translating to 144 holes per square inch. Each wire has a thickness of 0.5mm, but intersections where two wires converge are naturally thicker. The mesh has a consistent square hole size or aperture of 1.62mm from wire to wire. With an open area percentage of 58%, it guarantees efficient airflow and filtration. This mesh is particularly beneficial for its adaptability in various applications, from filtration and gutter guards to rodent proofing. Its design ensures debris is effectively filtered out while allowing water to pass through in gutter applications. Additionally, its strength serves as a formidable barrier against rodents. For those who wish to customise the mesh size, it can be easily cut using standard scissors or tin snips. In essence, the galvanised steel mesh rolls offer a reliable, long-lasting solution suitable for various practical needs.

FAQs For This Galvanised Steel Mesh

How Does The Mesh Roll’s Open Area Impact Its Functionality?

The open area of the galvanised steel mesh roll plays a pivotal role in determining its functionality across different applications. By allowing substances or water to pass through while effectively blocking unwanted debris, higher open areas, such as the 58% found in this mesh, enhance filtration efficiency. Airflow and ventilation are also influenced by this percentage, ensuring proper air circulation that prevents moisture buildup and subsequent mold growth.

Additionally, the open area can affect the mesh’s weight, flexibility, and visibility. It is important to note that a higher open area might compromise the mesh’s overall strength in certain situations, but the galvanised steel compensates for this. In gutter guard applications, the open area facilitates efficient water drainage and traps debris. Mesh’s open area is a critical factor that impacts its performance and suitability for various tasks.

Is This Mesh Suitable For Commercial Applications?

Yes, the galvanised steel mesh roll is suitable for commercial applications. Due to its corrosion-resistant galvanised steel construction, the product will last for a very long time and will be resistant to external factors that are commonly encountered in commercial environments. The mesh’s specific features, such as its 1.62mm aperture and 58% open area, make it versatile for a variety of commercial purposes. The mesh can be used for filtration systems, building facades, ventilation panels, or rodent-proofing in commercial establishments.

Easily cut with scissors or tin snips, it can also be adjusted on-site. This mesh is well-suited to commercial projects and applications due to its specifications and durability.

How Do I Install The Mesh As A Gutter Guard?

Installing the galvanised steel mesh roll as a gutter guard involves a few systematic steps. Here’s a basic guide:

  1. Safety First: Ensure you have the right safety equipment, including gloves to protect your hands from sharp mesh edges and safety goggles. If using a ladder, ensure it’s stable and preferably have someone assist you.
  2. Measure and Cut: Measure the length and width of your gutters. Using scissors or tin snips, cut the mesh to the appropriate size, allowing a bit of an overlap on the edges for a secure fit.
  3. Clean the Gutters: Before installation, ensure that the gutters are free from leaves, debris, and dirt. This ensures the mesh sits properly and the gutters function efficiently.
  4. Position the Mesh: Lay the cut mesh over the gutters, ensuring it covers the width entirely. The mesh should overlap the edges slightly.
  5. Secure the Mesh: There are several methods to secure the mesh:
    • Clips: Some mesh rolls come with specially designed clips that can hold the mesh in place.
    • Screws: For a more permanent solution, you can screw the mesh into the front lip of the gutter. Ensure the screws are rust-proof.
    • Sealant: A heavy-duty outdoor adhesive or sealant can be applied at intervals to stick the mesh to the gutter. However, this might make future removal or replacement more challenging.
  6. Trim Excess Mesh: Using your scissors or tin snips, trim any excessive overlapping mesh for a neat finish.
  7. Maintenance: Periodically check the mesh for any accumulated debris on top and clear it off to ensure smooth water flow.
  8. Regular Checks: It’s a good practice to inspect the gutter guards occasionally, especially after heavy storms, to ensure they are securely in place and functioning effectively.
