Galvanised Steel Rabbit Fencing
19mm galvanised steel rabbit fencing wire mesh is an extremely most popular type of garden mesh. We keep our stock volumes high, meaning that it is available for immediate dispatch off the shelf.
Galvanised chicken wire is used the world over as garden netting due to it’s economical price, light-weight but long-lasting properties and it’s versatility.
This mesh has a 19mm hexagonal shaped hole, which will prevent birds from entering and damaging vegetable patch crops including fruit bushes, salads and newly planted seedlings.
All of our mesh netting is simple to use. We suggest that you use u-nails to attach to the timber fencing posts that you make up fruit and veg cages. This hexagonal wire mesh is produced with hot dipped galvanised steel. Galvanising the steel protects the steel metal from rusting and increases the life of the roll for outdoor use.
With a galvanized finish, agricultural wire mesh fencing is designed to be long-lasting, thicker and more durable. It can be used commercially as well as for domestic perimeter security. By using rabbit wire mesh fencing, certain areas where rabbits might cause damage can be protected from damage. The netting is heavily galvanized after manufacture and has salvage wires integrated into it, making it one of the most robust and strong nettings available. Rabbits will be prevented from digging under this netting by burying or turning it out in the direction of the threat.
In addition to enclosing certain areas or enclosures, rabbits can also be kept out of other areas by using netting. This rabbit fencing is both strong and safe, so you will not have to worry about the rabbits being injured.
Because of the galvanising process, this wire mesh is highly durable and designed to withstand a variety of pressure levels. As a result, they can be used in a variety of different situations, including:
- Preventing rabbits or enclosing them
- Protecting land, gardens, and allotments
- Safeguarding the perimeter edge
- Providing protection against larger animals, such as foxes
To further discourage rabbits and other burrowing animals from digging beneath the fence, part of the fencing can be buried in an L shape.
Galvanised Steel Material
This wire mesh is made of mild steel that has been hot dipped in a zinc layer coating. This gives the galvanised finish which protects it from outdoor elements.
Galvanised chicken mesh is normally a metallic grey colour but it can also come in a green PVC coating in the same mesh specs, this is to give extra protection and reinforcement for even more longer lasting use; but mainly it is brilliant for camouflage. This is available through our ‘Chicken Wire’ section in various hole sizes.
Please note that ‘Galvanised Steel’ and ‘Galvanized Steel’ refer to the exact same finish. This mesh netting type is not available in stainless steel.
Wire Mesh Construction
Rabbit netting is constructed in a distinctive yet effective hexagonal pattern to have a strong, reinforced frame. At the same time it is also long lasting and can be easily manipulated into the format you want it.
The hexagonal mesh shape also means it can prevent larger garden animals such as chickens, rabbits and cats from getting through certain gaps or areas that require protection or are out of bounds. The mesh is not welded mesh. We offer welded mesh in galvanised steel through our welded mesh section.
These are the options that we have available for this wire fencing product:
- Our standard roll lengths are 50 metres (165ft)
- Our standard roll widths are 1200mm (4ft)
Galvanised chicken mesh is normally a metallic grey colour but it can also come in a green PVC coating in the same mesh specs for chicken runs. The green PVC coating gives extra protection and reinforcement for even more longer lasting use; but mainly it is brilliant for camouflage. This is available through our chicken wire section in various hole sizes.
Customers are advised that the life expectancy of galvanised wire netting is determined by the amount of wear and tear it is subjected to and the environment in which it is used. As a rule we advise that metal mesh should last 10 years in the right circumstances.
The galvanised finish will protect the steel from corrosion.
