Galvanised Steel and Green PVC Coated Chicken Wire Mesh Rolls

The Mesh Company Chicken Wire is manufactured from strong steel wire that is woven and twisted to form its distinctive hexagonal mesh holes.

Our chicken wire is normally made from square or hexagonal wire strands to help it keep its shape. Available in a wide range of roll lengths, roll heights, hexagonal hole sizes and wire thicknesses for same day despatch.

The Mesh Company quality range of chicken wire mesh is competitively priced and is suitable for many domestic and commercial applications.

Ideal for a range of projects including chicken coops, rabbit runs, garden fencing, tree protection, anti-slip wire for decking, plastering and render support.
Wire mesh can also be used for fencing, cages, plant support and as a barrier around the bottom of fruit cages. Chicken wire mesh is traditionally formed with hexagonal holes to give the product it’s strength and makes it easy to bend and form into any shape required.

Chicken Wire Mesh

The Mesh Company galvanised chicken wire is manufactured from steel wire that is then galvanised with a hot-dipped zinc coating. This process, carried out before the mesh is woven into shape gives an especially high level of corrosion resistance, so is far less likely to rust and will keep its grey finish, even in outdoor environments.

The galvanised coating on our chicken wire is protection against the elements and makes it an ideal choice for many applications including chicken coops, rabbit runs, deer fencing, garden fencing, and fruit cages.

Core Material – Mild Steel

Finish – Hot-Dipped Galvanised Before Weaving.

Green PVC Coated Chicken Wire

The Mesh Company Green PVC coated chicken wire is manufactured from galvanised steel wire that is then coated with PVC. Green PVC mesh is especially pleasing to the eye and more subtle in outdoor environments than the galvanised steel equivalent. The coating ensures that the product will have an even longer lifespan and is also a safer option than the standard galvanised mesh for use where animals and pets are involved.

PVC coated chicken wire is an ideal application where fence or crop protection is required to be discreet and blend in better in a garden, with a hedge or any grass area. Mesh can also be used at the bottom of tall fences to keep out rabbits and other animals.

Similar to the galvanised chicken wire mesh, our Green PVC mesh is constructed in a hexagonal shape pattern for maximum reinforcement and can be bent and manipulated into any shape required.

Core Material – Mild Steel
Finish – Galvanised Wire Core with Green PVC Coating

Chicken Wire Mesh Rolls

The Mesh Company Chicken Wire Mesh Rolls are hot-dipped galvanised steel fencing mesh. Ideal for a wide variety of applications including coops, runs, garden protection, horticulture and agriculture. Chicken wire mesh is sometimes referred to as hexagonal wire mesh because of the shape of the holes.

The fact that chicken wire has a hexagonal hole means that it yields an especially high percentage open area and is consequently light weight and easy to handle. It makes a great lightweight fencing solution as well as the standard use in small animal enclosures such as chicken coops.

The smaller aperture 13mm (1/2”) hexagonal hole size is great for bird protection and fruit cages.

We have a huge range of options from our chicken wire mesh stock. We specialise in smaller rolls that are easy to handle and affordable. Select what you require from our wide range of roll lengths, roll heights, hexagonal holes sizes and wire thicknesses.

How To Build A Chicken Run

We have worked with hundreds of customers to help them to make successful chicken coops and runs since we launched this product. It can be hard to plan how to use this mesh to build something from scratch and we want to help as best we can.

The definition of a chicken coop is an indoor space for the chickens to rest and lay. A chicken run is usually outdoors, can be any size and is to allow them to forage and bathe.

Both Galvanised Steel and Green PVC Chicken Wire Netting are ideal for use to build a coop or run. We suggest that you use Welded Mesh for protection against larger predators such as Foxes and our Rodent Mesh range for protection small vents and gaps. Both can easily be used in collaboration with our chicken wire to make any structure as secure as possible.

Chicken runs need to have enough space for optimum movement and freedom. They will need to have shelter from the elements, but also have good ventilation. We recommend that you consider the upkeep and prepare the space before you start the build. Make sure that it is easy to clean and keep tidy. Most importantly, the space must be as secure as possible. It is also advisable to use a welded mesh buried 1ft deep to prevent Foxes from gaining entry underneath the structure.
