10mm Stainless Steel Square Perforated Metal Mesh Sheet

This specification of perforated metal metal sheet is very strong. We cut the available sheets to size using our industrial sized guillotine.

The advantages of perforated metal includes its thickness. The square holes are punched out and the punching can be done at a much smaller hole size. This production process ensures that perforated sheet metal is much stronger than woven wire mesh of the same thickness. The perforated sheet can have a much smaller hole size than the woven wire of the same thickness.

Perforated sheet is produced in several metal options, including steel and aluminium. This specific mesh is produced from 304 grade stainless steel sheet.

Mesh Specification

• Hole Size/ Aperture – 10mm square hole
• Pitch – 12mm. This is measured from the start of one hole to the next or the hole size plus the gap between the hole
• Thickness – 1.5mm thickness
• Open Area % – 70% of this mesh is open, so this would allow for very good airflow yet still be strong due to the thickness of the sheet
• Metal Grade – This mesh is 304 (SS304) grade stainless steel. This is the industry standard grade of stainless steel

Square perforations are used for technical and decorative applications. Geometrically, a square is the most solid form of perforated metal. This specification provides the possibility of a large open area and strength.

304 Grade Stainless Steel

Magnets will not stick to this grade of stainless steel. SS304 is the most common grade of stainless steel used in industry. If you require a metal that magnets will stick to we recommend mild steel or galvanised steel.

SS304 also has outstanding forming and welding characteristics.

We do have many mesh specs are available in SS316 and SS316L grades, which can be ordered elsewhere through our store. These are more suitable for food preparation or marine applications.
